Area: Ramallah and Bireh
Made of cotton and polyester with a silky touch, this thobe is embroidered in shades of red thread (hence the name of the thobe). The embroidery is done in the shape of 6 wide straight lines called ‘Al-orouq’ which means branches in Arabic and can be seen on the sides of the thobe ‘Al-Banayeq’, repeated on the frontal and back areas of the thobe as well. The patterns are usually in the shape of birds, and can also be seen on the sleeves and lower back hem.
The embroidery on the chest is different and takes a more geometric shape in which we can see triangles also known as ‘Aqwas’ which means arches in Arabic, in addition to straight lines that carry beautiful patterns.
The belt is made of striped cashmere.
The shawl is off-white decorated with a piece of cashmere.
