Gazza - Janneh and Nar thobe

Made of black polyester and red cotton fabric, this thobe is embroidered using cotton-silk threads that are mostly red with some other bright colors. The motifs used are mainly geometric and floral. Triangular shapes called “Hijabat” cover the chest panel, which is outlined with red silk threads.

The lower back hem is embroidered in the same patterns as the chest panel but in a horizontal strip that is over 30 cm in height. Red cotton fabric embroidered in floral patterns is patched onto the front of the thobe, sewn with “Al-Laf” and “Al-Tehshaya” stitches. The front and back shoulders are covered in embroidered motifs, while the opening of the sleeves and the lower outline of the thobe are sewn with “Al-Manajel” stitch.

The belt is sewn in “Al-Manajel” stitch similar to that of the lower outline of the thobe

The shawl is adorned with a piece of fabric embroidered using “Al-Manajel” stitch as well
