Made of black cotton and polyester fabric with a silky texture, this thobe is simple and traditional in style where it is mainly embroidered on the chest area and the sides of the thobe called ‘Al-banayeq’. The pattern of the embroidery is done in straight thin floral lines called ‘orouq which means branches in Arabic, and is a pattern repeated on the frontal and back areas of the thobe. The sleeve is usually in the form of a wide triangle called ‘radan’, with smaller floral patterns embroidered on the opening of the sleeve. The chest area is embroidered with the same floral branch pattern (Al- ‘Orouq), and the outline is sewn in silk threads.
The belt is made of striped cashmere.
The shawl is off-white adorned with a piece of cashmere.
