Area: Widely used in the central areas of Palestine
The pattern of the embroidery is done in 6 straight lines called ‘orouq which means branches in Arabic, hence the name. The thobe is simple and traditional in style where it is mainly embroidered on the sides of the thobe called ‘Al-banayeq’ with the same pattern repeated on the frontal and back areas. The chest panel is embroidered with the same pattern (Al- ‘Orouq), whereas little embroidery is done on the sleeves and the lower back hem.
The belt is made of striped cashmere.
The shawl is off-white decorated with a piece of cashmere.
