Area: Al-Majdal
Made of dark blue cotton fabric with purple stripes and thin orange and green lines on the sides called “Abu Matin”, this kind of fabric is called “Al-Majdalawi”.
The thobe is embroidered using cotton-silk threads that are mostly pink, in geometric patterns. The triangular shapes called “Al-Hijabat” and the cypress tree patterns are clearly visible on the sides of the thobe and the chest panel in the shape of a necklace. The chest panel is outlined using silk threads, whereas the sleeves are only embroidered at the opening in a horizontal band.
