Area: Al-Majdal
This thobe is made of black cotton and polyester fabric with purple and green stripes on the sides called Al-Biltaji. This type of fabric is called “Al-Majdalawi”. The thobe is embroidered using cotton-silk threads in geometric patterns. The triangular shapes called “Al-Hijabat” are clearly visible on the sides of the thobe and the chest panel in the shape of a necklace. The chest panel is outlined using silk threads, whereas the sleeves are only embroidered at the opening in a horizontal band.
