Area: Beer Al-Sabe’
Made of black polyester, this thobe is distinguished for the heavy embroidery on the sides of it “Al-Banayeq” using silk threads that are mostly red with some additional colors. The motifs of this dress are mostly geometrical in the shape of opposite triangles and straight lines. The lower front hem is also richly embroidered with vertical and horizontal straight lines. As for the lower back hem, the embroidery is done horizontally and topped with smaller motifs.
The sleeves are wide, called “Al-Radan”, and are richly embroidered along the sleeve, ending with a line of triangles at the edge. These triangles can also be seen on the lower hem of the thobe. The chest panel however is smaller in size and only embroidered on the upper part which is closer to the front shoulders. The lack of embroidery on the chest panel allowed the embroidery on the sides of the thobe to rise to a higher level than seen on other dresses.
The belt is made of striped cashmere fabric
The shawl is off-white adorned with a piece of cashmere fabric
